creating jewelry by evening lamplight & carnivàle

untold imprint vintage amulet jewelry making

I've always liked having background movies playing as opposed to music. Now, as a maker, I'll play documentaries or old favorites while I'm printing, sewing, or assembling. Carnivàle is a regular – I know the music and language by heart. The colors and textiles inspire me endlessly, and the mood seeps into what I'm making while it's playing. Sometimes I'll look up and grab my phone to take a grainy screenshot of the television. Every scene is a painting.

New necklaces are in my shop: Andali, Three Sanskrit Amulets, and Muse. All made from vintage amulets from India on silk and linen. I like to think they might be something Ruthie would wear.
